A portion of Route 44 in the Town of Amenia has reopened in both directions after an hours-long closure following a rollover involving a tractor-trailer and a van, said state police.
The crash took place a little before 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Turkey Hollow Road and Route 44 in Amenia, causing one victim to be airlifted to an area hospital, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
The roadway between Bangall Amenia and Smithfield Valley roads reopened around 12:30 p.m.
"Transportation officials are on the scene and the tractor-trailer lost numerous wheels which will make it harder to move," Hicks said.
